RedTail Golf Course

Course Overview
This property was opened for play in 1968, and was originally called Progress Downs. This course replaced the 9-hole West Hills Golf Course, located at what is now the Washington Park Zoo.

In 1999, the course was completely redesigned by Portland Public Golf Manager John Zoller into a 7,100 yard, championship 18-hole course with a covered, lighted driving range. It was renamed RedTail Golf Course in honor of the red-tailed hawks that nest in the surrounding trees.

Lessons
All of Portland Public Golf's courses offer private and group lessons for men and women of all ages. Our dedicated staff of Teaching Professionals provide helpful instructions to improve your game, regardless of your experience level.

RedTail has created a unique G.O.L.F.™ (Goal Oriented Learning Format) instructional program which enables our teaching staff to understand your individual objectives and tailor a learning program to meet your specific goals. We also offer a Golf Academy, Junior Academy, and Corporate/Group Clinics.
